To get to the Rainbow Mountain you will have to go to Cusco first. The Peruvian city has an airport that receives domestic flights from different destinations within the country, so the first thing you have to do is look for flights to Cusco.
In case you are closer or want to save money, you can go to Cuzco by bus. Keep in mind that this will be the slowest, since it will take you between 22 and 25 hours from Lima, 17 from Ica, 14 from Nasca, 10 from Arequipa and almost 7 from Puno (Lake Titicaca). On our trip through Peru, for almost all bus journeys we use the Cruz del Sur company, for its comfort and safety. On its page you can see schedules and prices, being able to obtain discounts if purchased in advance.
Once in Cuzco, you have several ways to get to the Rainbow Mountain. The most comfortable and the one that we recommend for its value for money is on an excursion. You will leave your hotel early, they will take you in a comfortable bus or minivan, you will stop for breakfast, you will do the walk accompanied by a guide, you will have the food prepared and they will take you back calmly without you having to worry about anything.
